Economic Development Director, Brady Lessard,

to address Sanford's economic future at upcoming

Historic Trust meeting

As part of our ongoing Guest Speaker series, the Sanford Historic Trust invites you to listen and meet Sanford's new Economic Development Director, Brady Lessard, on Tuesday 19 March 7PM, at the Historic Sanford Welcome Center, 230 E. 1st Street. It is open to the general public.

Sanford has a framework to build a strong economic future, but the city also faces some challenges. Brady Lessard, a former Mayor, will address this topic along with updates about the failing Seminole Towne Center, the controversial Heritage Park project, the Orlando Sanford International Airport, the upcoming sunsetting of the CRA, a vital source of funding for downtown development and promotion, plus other businesses in the city, old and new.

Lessard has been one of Sanford's biggest supporters for the past 40 years. As a citizen/investor he has saved countless historic homes and other structures, most notably the historic Student Museum, now the Venue 1902 wedding hall, from demolition. Most recently, he was Vice President of Project Development for CPH Engineering. He started his current position with the city in July.

The Sanford Historic Trust membership meeting will be conducted immediately following Brady Lessard's talk. The general public is invited to stay and perhaps join the Trust.

Some agenda topics include: the proposed addition of 20 new historic lampposts this fiscal year for the Residential Historic District, a proposed historic mural/public art project for the Downtown Historic District, the 35th Annual 2024 Sanford Holiday Tour of Homes, 2024 proposed budget, and much more.
